Twinning

The village of Twining is in Mason and Turner Townships in north-central Arenac County. The village was named after Fredrick Twining, a lumberman, who was resposible for getting the Detroit & Mackinaw Railroad to put a station there in 1897. The village was incorporated in 1903. Twining remains a small, rural farming community with small businesses, a post office and school.
